Running-on is caused by carbon deposits in the combustion chambers. The deposits glows after the ignition circuit has been switched switched off, so the spark plugs will have little effect on this. Maybe the engine bores/cylinder rings are well worn such that engine oil can slip through. A compression test could diagnose this. Johannes
