Before 96, some fiability problems on 900. I have a 97's and everything is perfect. I find the quality of equipments and finition better on 900 than 9-3. Especially Talladega 900 models are really well built. Moreover, 99's and 2000's 9-3 are known to have some few problems. These are the reasons why I would choose a late 900 rather than a 9-3, and the price often turns into 900's favor.
