Subject: Fuel leak?

I've just started noticing something peculiar on my '84 900S. Often, when I turn the key to the point where the fuel pump kicks on, I hear a wet spraying sound from under the car. Sure enough, a little bit of fuel has been sprayed on the ground. This usually only happens once or twice, then it stops until late when I try and start the car again. It appears to be coming from a device that I'm not sure what it is. It is mounted under the car, in front of the fuel tank. The fuel line comes out of the tank, into this canister of some sort, then another comes back out and towards the front of the vehicle. On the canister there is a third, short length of tube that just ends (goes nowhere, and is open). It is only a few inches long and appears to be the source of the sprayed gas. What is this device, and why is it doing this? ----------------------- Scott I.
