This doesn't usually happen except in rain or snow or an _extreme_ stop. When ABS kicks in, it releases the brake and then reapply's it within a second or so, the releases, then applies, etc. The effect is that the pads "hammer" the rotor. You'll hear and feel this as it is happening. (Sort of like stepping on a giant massager :-) bob
