Subject: 100th issue of on-line magazine

There have now been one hundred weekly editions of the Australian on-line performance magazine, AutoSpeed. Said quickly, it sounds easy. But in fact it would be a helluva lot easier to count up a thousand automotive web sites that over the last two years have disappeared entirely from view, have not lived up to their initial promise, or that have survived only by piggybacking abbreviated material from the print magazines produced by their parent companies. So as you might then expect, to celebrate our 100th issue we've added a host of articles to this week's normal content. In them we look at a whole range of 'bests' from those 100 issues - the best feature cars, the best road test cars, the best pics, the best writing and the best emails that we've received. And we also think back to the low points, and take a careful look at predicting what sort of cars we'll be driving in the future. In new stories we've got a brilliant new DIY boost control. AFAIK, it's unique in the way it goes about its task. Not only is it adjustable for peak boost, but the amount of wastegate creep can also be adjusted. That means that if you're using a well-matched turbo, you can make boost come on ultra hard, or if you want better driveability, you can have boost arrive in a more progressive way. If you want some light reading - check out our 'Coffee, Cars and Cardboard Food' story. It's Part 1 of a diary covering a recent trip that the editorial crew undertook, and it explores our diet, the cars we drove, our diet (oh, have I already said that?), the people we met, our diet, and the navigation we didn't enjoy. And to celebrate our centenary of issues, all the above stories are free access. Julian Edgar Editor AutoSpeed - Australia's most popular fast car site http://www.autospeed.com.au
