Being a cheapskate, I use strictly fossil oil. But economics aside, there's another reason. A technician at George's Imports in Kansas City, MO told me the dealership uses a Valvoline semi-synthetic blend--and not because it's cheaper. He's seen a lot of timing chain failures in cars running on pure synthetic; thus he finds the blend a good compromise.
