If you replaced the upper motor mounts without checking/replacing the lowers, you may have done yourself in. When I bought my 87 9000S in December 97 with 145,890, both the lower and upper mounts had to be replaced. The previous owner replaced the lowers, and I replaced the uppers, after I bought the car. More often than not bad lower mounts will cause the uppers to go bad. The Saab people at Swedish Specialists in Lorton explained that to me during the pre-buy inspection, and it has been confirmed by other saabtechs since then.
