I have just purchased a used 9000CD Turbo for my wife. The car's exterior and interior condition is excellent, however the automatic transmisson is giving indication of future problems. It slips whilst starting, could it be as simple as band tensioning or the start of something more serious (fluid level is OK). Last weekend I drove 1000 miles through the Canadian Rockies, steep hills, ice covered roads and snow deep enough to chain up four times.without problem other than this ocassional start off slip I have the opportunity to buy a spare transmission locally for what may be a reasonable price $700CAN (£300). This transmission will be parted off a 1987 turbo 9000. Is this transmission interchangeable with the transmission on my 1990 model 9000CD ? I'm also in the market for a set of shop manuals for the 9000CD, if anyone has any available? Trapper in Calgary, Alberta , Canada Current temperature -15degC.
