Subject: Anybody want a model 99

ast December a kind soul donated his 1980 Saab MOdel 99 to our Boy Scout Troop. It had sat in his garage for 7 years. I had it towed to a local shop and after $1000 I had a running car. It has now been sitting in my Garage since March 2000. We intended to sell it at our annual "Scout Garage Sale" this Saturday, November 11th. Friday, I put in a new battery, but low and behold, she won't start. Starter functions, but she won't start. There is gas in the tank, but I don't know if its getting through the injectors and into the cylinders. Anyway, its got to go this weekend, running or not, or the wife will. We were planning to haul her out to the garage sale and do the silent auction thing starting at $500 ( that was if she was running). Here are the details: Saab Model 99 GLi. 5 speed manual 2 door White with green trim - Shape Fair - no wrecks, minor dings and surface rust, and chalky paint. Glass all good. Interior great. has dealer add on AC (needs freon) AM/FM Cassettee. When it was running - Dec-March, I found it to be a very peppy runner. known defects: Radiator has hole about size of a pencil poke. Can be soldered or replaced. Electric radiator temp sensor needs to be replaced. Brakes work, but will need a brake job (turning and pads) to be used regularly. AC needs freon Needs paint job tro look great, current paint is fine if you don't mind the car looking 20 years old. Needs 4 new tires. Milage is 124433 Has power brakes and steering History as I know it. Car started its life in Alaska. Owner moved to Minnisota, owner then moved to east Texas. In 1988 he gave it to his cousin (the fellow that gave it to us). Cousin drove it for a year and then purchased a Nissan Pathfinder. He parked Saab and never got around to doing anything with it. He mentioned it to me one day and I told him he could take a tax deduction worth more than the street value if he donated it. Oh yeah, it has a block heater. Anyway, it leaves here Saturday unless anyone here is interested in it for rebuild or parts. Car is located in Southwest Suburban Houston Texas. E-mail me with questions or if interested in car. Thanks David
