I just got a couple of quotes. In Switzerland where I am , about 6000CHF or 2600GBP. About the same in UK. The garage bloke basically seemed just interested in having the gearbox replaced. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to cost effective to do this on a 1992 car. Do any garages actually supply recondition gearboxes ? If not then its a tearful farwell to my (last) SAAB.
