The fact that the steering wheel is not pointing straight is not dangerous in itself(except for the fact that it probably limits vision of the instrument panel), but it is merely a symptom of a fault in the steering system, if the car has been kerbed, and part of the steering damaged, it may have been weakened to such an extent that a further shock could cause it to fail completely. Steering faliure on any car is too frightening to risk, let alone on a high performance car like a SAAB. Please seek a second opinion from a trusted and competent mechanic.
