Subject: Re: Steering wheel problem Saab 9-3 1998

Well.. I got the results I wanted, no matter what he did. The shaking is gone, but the only problem now is the misalignment. I don't know about the kerbing, but on one of the test drives he took the car up to 105 mph, and the wheel was shaking like crazy. The shaking was present already at 49 mph. Also the gearlever was shaking but only when you use the accelerator pedal. The re-oiling helped, and the shaking is now at a minimum. The mechanic didn't know what was causing the problem, there could be many different reasons. He tried the re-oiling and it helped. The wry steering wheel is just irritating, it's not dangerous is it?? I'm really disappointed with this. This is my first Saab, and I really like it, but I've never had any problems with shaking steering wheel on any other car. I've heard others saying that this has been a problem with many Saabs, and the mechanic was working on other cars with similar problems, all 9-3s. Of course the guarantee covers it, but it's irritating nevertheless..
