Sounds like it may be time to do a partial replacement or complete flush of your power steering fluid. I used an old turkey baster to pull fluid out of my resevoir. I replaced it with the Valvoline synthetic power steering fluid. It did make a difference on my 87 9000S, 200,317 miles. If that does not help, you may be looking at a new pump.
