Subject: Canadian pricing?
I had a '96 900SE that was totalled in an accident last year. It was
purchased through the Saturn/Saab/Izusu used car programme in Southern
Ontario which means no negotiation on price.
I'm finally ready to buy again and, as well as looking at used, want to
consider buying new this time (Damn, I loved that car!) and have a few
questions (I did search the Saabnet archive with no luck):
a) Is price negotiable on new models or do they follow the Saturn "no
dicker" policy?
b) If so, how much can I reasonably expect to negotiate off the asking
price? If not, why not? They must be making a killing then because it looks
to me like they're charging list.
c) What about incentives like the ones available in the U.S. mentioned in
postings here a few days ago? I can't find anything except a 1.9% lease
rate on the 9-3 5 door only (not available on the SE). Again, if not, does
anybody know why not?
I'd be interested in hearing any other comments anybody has on buying a new
Saab in Canada.
Thanks,
RAK
