Just from curiosity -- is the standard (from-the-factory) operation of the headlamps documented in current owners' manuals, and is there any place where the availability of the alternatives is described for the end user *other* than asking a Saab mechanic (or posting a query here)? My '97 900 had the usual behavior (full headlamps on whenever the ignition is on), but it's considered very rude behavior to fail to switch to parking lamps when approaching guarded gates at gov'mt facilities at night. I squawked this to the Saab shop and was told about the option to change the behavior to honor the "parking lights only" position on the headlamp switch, but I found the failure to include information about this option in the owner's manual to be highly irritating.
