Subject: 90 Saab: whump, whump, whump sound in front end



Hi:

My daughter's has a 1990 Saab Turbo. Yesterday she noted that she heard a
"helicopter-like" sound (thus the whump, whump, whump) in the front end of
her Saab.

Sure enough, I just took it for a short ride and it makes a whump, whump,
whump sound in right front end. It seems it only make the sound over 25 MPH
and it is loud.

My immediate thought (and I know nothing about this stuff) is the constant
velocity (CV) joint rubber boot is torn and flapping. I tried to see what I
could see but couldn't see anything with a quick look.

Any thoughts????!
