hello, as noted in my sig-file, I have an '87 900 Turbo 16v (2.0L), and I had a rattle noise for a while. the rattle I had was a metallic ringing-rattle noise. it turned out to be that the bracket that bolts onto the side/end of the transmission and supports the exhaust pipe coming down from the manifold/turbo was the culprit in several ways. first of all the u-bolt that goes thru the bracket and up over the pipe was loose, at least in part because the pipe was starting to rust thru. also, my bracket wasn't correctly bolted on (had only 1 bolt in it) to the tranny. check that and see if it helps. hope so. -- Nate t.
