My '92 900 S 16V fuel injection has 88Kmiles and is typically very dependable. I usually sit down, don't touch the gas pedal, turn the key, and errr, errr, errr vrrooom! (Actually it's more like clackata clackata clackata until she warms a bit.) It starts right up every time. So last weekend I drive 5 minutes to the pet store, park the car, drop off my Scottie, get into the Saab, turn the key, and it starts up for about 3-4 seconds then dies. During the next hour and a half I tried to start her about every 10-15 minutes and she was acting like she wasn't getting any gas, and she would not start.. The previous day I had filled up at a station where I don't usually go, so I was thinking maybe I bought some dirty gas and my fuel filter was clogged or full of water. After about an hour and a half I sat down, slightly pushed the accelerator twice, turned the key and "errr, errr, errr vrrooom!" just like normal. The rest of the weekend and Monday everything was normal dependability. Still suspecting the "bad gas" theory, I filled up w/ approx. 7 gallons at my nomal Chevron station and drove 30 miles home. The Saab was parked at home about 20 minutes, I need a pizza so I get in, turn the key, errr, errr, errr errr, errr, errr (no vrroom). A couple of times she would BARELY start for about 6-8 seconds, but was acting like she wasn't getting any gas, just barely sputtering along, then would die. What's up??
