Richard, I would suggest removing the battery from the car during the storage months. One reason to go with a sealed (optima or similar) is to reduce the baking out of sulfuric acid which contributes to rust on the RHS fender and hood. The battery is next to the exhaust (as you know) and this is a problem especially with flooded cell batteries. The CCA is not as much of a concern to me as the reduction of rust inducing sulfuric acid vapors!
