A base model carb 900 was available in europe until around '88, usually a single stromberg/peirburg type. Nothing much wrong with them, produced 100bhp (single) 110bhp (twin) and pretty cheap/simple to maintain. The manual choke control was mounted on the gear console, where the coin tray is. No carb 900's ever available in the states but maybe Canada got a few. The cold starting is usually much better than an elderly K-jetronic IMHO.
