Subject: Re: Proper spark plugs for my '85 900T

Was your 83T the APC version? I accept your experience with the Bosch platinum but I (only 5yrs Saab experience) have had trouble with the stock Bosch plugs - misfire at boost and on occasions rough idle. This was on unmodified 83 and 87 8v's and an 85 16v - all gaped to the smaller end of the range (.6mm) and with the correct temp rating. A year into owning an 85 T16 I switched to NGK on the advice of this very newsgroup and have had no trouble whatsoever. Moreover I can get a set of NGK BP7ES plugs for around 10 UK £ (approx 16USD) - how much does a set of Bosch platinum plugs cost? I have no idea why the Bosch (also Champion etc) plugs did not perform but from experience - NGK plugs work.
