Subject: Re: Saab Leather seats(Reconditioner question)

Try http://www.colorplus.com ... they are popular with the Porsche folks. I am doing the seats from my 88 911 with their products, and the results are good. They sell a very good conditioner that uses the same oils used to tan the leather in the first place, and they have a very good flexible surface colorant that you can wipe on with a clean cloth. They even have a "spackle" compound to repair rips and tears. There's a PDF file on the site that explains all about leather restoration, and you can send them a sample from your seats and they will color match it perfectly if it's not a color they have in stock. Takes some nerve to do it by the book ... you have to use lacquer thinner to try and remove the old finish and actually sand the seats lightly to open the pores and remove scratches that are deeper than the finish, but it works.
