Subject: Re: Saab's reliable or not??????

I'm coming up on the 13th anniversary of my '88 9kt . It has about 148k miles. Transmission was rebuilt in 1990, again in 1991 (all under warranty). Has had sport APC (175 horse output) almost since new. It has been an exceptionally reliable car. Except, now getting rust on the corners of the front doors, despite the fact that it has always been garaged, and kept clean, and there are electrical problems, but they are more irritating than a problem. I can't say much about SAAB's after GM took over; however, I did note that the SAAB oil filters, which were fat, and had been manufactured by Mann, went to some skinny-ass design, that barely covers the filter hole. This says volumes to me about GM's quality. BTW, I now use Bosch, or other quality filters manufactured for Volvos instead of the GM filter spec.
