Think of this car as a "beater", a car that you don't worry about getting scratched or banged in a parking lot. It is a car you can drive fearlessly on the salty winter roads. It is basic transportation! If it were my car, I would rip down the headliner and expoy the sunroof in place ,if possible. If it were my only car I would fix the AC and drive it into the ground or until it rusted away. Assuming you maintained the engine and transmission, you should be able to get 300,000 to 400,000 miles on the car. Just think of all the things you could do with the $35,000 you would save by not buying a new car. Your auto insurance is also less expensive. I ran my '86 900 until the front end was rusted away from the road salts. Someone bought it and is still driving it today. I have a previously owned '90 900S hatchback, as well as an '82 245.
