Thanks danny, I did take off the plastic cover, the huge blower motor in black plastic casing was located towards the offside of the centre, it looks exactly like the picture 9.27 page on 3.9 in Haynes. In my car a flat plug goes into the oval ring shown with the two crosses in the picture. This plug looks like it need a special tool, I was afraid of damaging it. At the nearside of the bulkhead there is a box which could be the APC or ECU. Maybe my 9000 model is different from yours.
