Don't give up yet, unless you really don't want to fix it yourself, and would rather have a bill to pay someone else! Have you removed the plastic cover from the bulkhead (false bulhead cover, as described in the Haynes manual)? Have you located the blower motor in the nearside (uk versions) of the bulkhead? It's a large black plastic thing. It has a large multiplug connector (from memory) possibly held on with a wire clip? unplug that and you should have the resistor pack. If you want, I'll take the cover off mine tomorrow (Sunday) and check. Feel free to email me at the address above, removing nospam first. Once you have located the resistor pack (which is not small) the thermistor will be obvious. All of this assumes that the '93 is the same as the 90, which according to the Haynes manual it is, and that your car is simlar to mine, ie aircon, not climate control.
