Are you sure it's not either the timing chain (rattle on accesory side of engine where the serpentine belt is), or hydraulic tappets? Unless they have been done I would expect a rattle from either of these places on a high mileage car like yours. Mine has done 125000 and the timing chain is just starting to rattle a little. The tappets usually rattle when cold or the car hasn't been used for a while, and goes once oil has got to them. The timing chain rattle is common at higher mileage and serious if not attended to.
