Subject: 1995/1994 Saab engines

My mechanic's insurance company wants to replace my ruined 1995 Saab 2.5 L V6 engine with a 1994 2.5 V6 engine. The insurance company says the engines for both years for that model Saab (1995 SE, the engine is a 2.5 V6 24 valve fuel injected) are identical. I have called a local Saab dealership who tells me that the engine for both the 95 and 94 models have the same part number. Does anyone know if the engines are really the same? Or if there is any particular thing to be concerned about if one replaces the 95 with the 94 engine (other than the mileage)? Regards, Peter Dunkelberger
