If you apply a vacuum a to it at idle, the engine should run very bad or even stop, than it¥s working. If it¥s not affecting the engine run when you apply the vacuum, than it¥s is probably clogged up with sott, and needs to be cleaned, or the membrane in the vacuum valve is faulty, than you need to replace it. As it¥s a part of the emission control system, it¥s checked at the yearly safety inspections here in Sweden, but I don¥t know if it¥s checked in Finland (I have assumed that you are from Finland based on your name and email adress). /Mats
