Well, I'll go ahead and tell you a little story about Volvo's before you go off and buy one. My father recently switched from Nissan (which he's been buying since the early 70s) to Volvo. He went out and got a nice little S40 sedan and drove off a happy camper. While being a nice car, I still think he should have purchased a 3 series BMW or Audi A4, but hey, it's his money. 3k miles later, horrid grinding noises coming from the engine. He has it hauled off to the dealership, and they discover some grinding coming from within the engine block. I can't remember the exact issue, but I believe it was a misalignment of the crankshaft or something. They didn't put him in a new S40 and let him drive away (as I feel they should have considering this car had 3 thousand miles and already had a fatal defect). They proceeded to try to fix the thing, and after weeks of frustration, my dad sold it back to the dealership and bought an S60. Now, why he would buy another one, I do not know, but the fact that they would not replace the brand new car, and gave him the options of either waiting several weeks to figure out what was wrong, or make him take a loss and trade in his month old car on an upgrade made me pretty pissed. I guess that's what you get for buying a Ford. -Dan > Now I am desperately looking for a buyer for my car. I want to get rid of it > and get something reliable. I'm contemplating a Volvo.
