Even if you buy an aftermarket one, you are still going to have to go by a dealership to help with the install. From what I have heard it has to be "married" to the radio via the car's computer and the tech II tool. You can't just plug it in and expect it to work. I agree that $600 is a lot, but that includes a 4 year warranty if you buy it at the same time as the car.
