Removing the knee bolster takes some time, but is easy and straightforward. First, remove the ashtray assy. from the upper section of the center console. This give you access to the large center bolt for the knee bolster. Remove the center console, including the fiber board forward section. The two bolts for the LH and RH sides of the knee bolster are accessed from under the hood, near the rear mounting points the hood "pushes into" when closed. These are a bit hard to find, but access is quite easy if you have a socket extension. Once you remove the two small bolts, the knee bolster can be removed. This give you complete access to under dash components. Don Allen '85 900 8-v '87 900S 16-v
