Wow. Other than "It really shouldn't do that, ever", I can't suggest anything. Are you saying the ring gear itself disintegrated, or it's spinning on the flywheel, or what? Those things are on there with an interference fit (hot ring gear goes over cold flywheel; shrinks to a very tight fit), and I can't imagine how it could do anything but stay there. Obviously, it's happened though ; how did it fail, exactly? Dave Hinz
