Has any one else in this news group experienced this problem? I have a 1997 900 S Talladega 3 door that was parked outside last night, it was a very cold night with the temperature below 0 degrees C. I got up early to go to the airport, took some bags out to the car and put them in the back through the hatch which was covered in frost, or at least what looked like very heavy frost. (Very light frost and a shattered windscreen.) Went back to get a second load and as I closed the hatch a small chunk of glass dropped out of the center of the rear hatch window. Then I noticed, (in the dark) that the entire rear hatch glass had shattered and stayed in the frame? Anyone have this happen to them? Seems unlikely someone could belt the window hard enough to shatter it and yet leave it in the frame. The only theory I could come up with was water getting under the rubber seals and then freezing and the resultant expansion of ice shattered the glass, although I believe the hatch is encapsulated glass so this seems unlikely. Replacement glass is over $900AUS which I'm told is not that expensive compared to other makes. Any ideas?
