Subject: Re: Saab 9.5 Bike Rack

I use a rear mount rack on my 900 as well as a roof rack. I have to say that the roof rack can be just as dangerous if the object falls off. I have been hauling canoes and kayaks for over 20 years and seen many fall off. I use 6 different ropes to tie a canoe on the rack. At least four would have to break before the canoe would come off. With that said, I also have a 245. I can put three mountain bikes in the back without folding the rear seat down. Unfortunately, the 9-5 wagon is smaller than the 245, so this is not an option. Also don't try going in a covered parking garage with bikes on a roof rack - that would entertain the people watching the video cameras. danny wrote: > At risk of personal attack again, I'll say what I've always said: I don't > know what type of carrier you are considering, but put bikes on roof racks, > not rear mounted carriers.
