The condensers have a weak section where it connects to the rubber pipe, which tends to fail if an attempt is made to loosen the joint-for example to replace the pipes. If your pipes are attached to the compressor by two bolts, the replacement 2 pipe set will be attached with a single bolt. I had a leak where the rubber pipe enters the metal section. Your estimate is probably about right-sorry.
