Insurance company statistics vary widely vs. vehicle safety testing, because the insurance statistics take into account driver (lack of) ability. A knowledgable driver knows to just keep pushing on the pedal with ABS. Since you can't easily get even one "pump" in quickly enough to release a skid and resume braking immediately with a non-ABS car (when the car starts sliding) most every driver, including the "pros" posting here, will stop shorter and straighter with ABS (but they'll never admit it 'cause ABS is part of some 'danger Illuminatti/UN/New World Order plot to rule the world).
