Also, it's an updated 900, so if the 900 was good, > the 9-3 is likely better. The 9-3 is an updated NG 900, which is not as good as the classic 900. Just my opinion, developed from 16 years of driving a classic 900. I looked at the NG 900 and newer models. One of the things that kept me from buying a NG 900 was the size of the lip on the hatchback. The classic had no lip and if you ever had to slide a large heavy object in and out of a car, you would appreciate the lack of a lip. But then so does Saab, they offer an optional slide floor for the 9-5 wagon and guess what they brag about? How easy it is to slide heavy objects in an out of the 9-5, something which was standard on the classic 900. I took this feature for granted when I had a young 30 something back, and now when I have an almost 50 year old back, I really value this feature..
