Subject: AC problem

Hi, I have a Air Conditioner symptom/problem that I am trying to identify and hope that the group can help. I have a 1993 900 Turbo (about 70k miles). It runs great except for one small thing when the air conditioning is running. Every so often (once every couple of minutes or so) it will make a quick, sharp squeak-like sound. When it does this, there is a slight (almost imperceptible if you are on a bumpy road) jerk or stutter to the car. This is an intermittent phenomenon. It only happens when the Air Conditioning is on. It is most noticeable when the car is running at speeds over 50 mph. My mechanic (who probably thinks I am crazy) has been unable to detect it on repeated tests, possibly because he drives it over bummpy roads. My questions: Any clue as to what is causing this? (it would be nice to be able to give the mech. a specific thing to look at) Is it a "needs immediate attention becuase when it gets worse it could really screw things up" kind of problem or should I wait until gets worse so that less-obsesive individuals can actually detect it? Any insight would be most deeply appreciated. Thanks much for your time. Regards, Al
