If the wheel is going to lock because of a loss of traction, it's going to lock for the non-ABS car and the ABS car. Who knows that they wheel is locked first, the "superior" driver or the ABS system ? ABS, of course. Who can pump the brake faster, the "superior" driver or the ABS system ? The ABS of course. On a dry road with a perfect straight line stop a non-ABS car might be able to drive a fraction closer to the edge than the ABS car. The difference is negligible and ABS wins in almost every REAL road condition test. Bob
