Everybody assumed that the first 9-3 to be introduced would be a hatchback. But, Saab always used to say 'We don't need a wagon as we have the hatch' so maybe they now put it the other way around. Also, Audi and BMW, on which Saab focusses, don't have hatchbacks. They are contracted by Saab to develop and build the conv. (in stead of Valmet). That car is expected in 2003.
