At first I couldn't find anything. Then it occurred to be that there was a faint hissing sound under the bonnet. I put my ear down in the engine and followed the noise, sure enough it lead to a 1/2 " pipe on rear side of the manifold. I don't know what this pipe was doing, but it was fitted to a nylon T with a smaller pipe leading to a sensor. The 1/2 " pipe was cracked, but turned such that the was crack hidden from view. I cut an inch off this pipe since it was generous and refitted. Done! Lesson learned: It is a good idea to listen and remember the how your engine should sound under normal conditions. Johannes
