Subject: Electrical problem?!

I was off to run an errand in my '86 900T this evening and something very strange happened. First off, my car started without a problem. As I was driving away I turned on my AC. Shortly thereafter, it started to rain. I went to turn on my windshield wipers and noticed that they went very, very slow across the windshield. I also noticed that my vent fan was running slower than normal. Things proceeded to get worse and worse. I eventually limped it home by turning off all possible electrical devices I could and went without turn signals because the car would almost stall when they blinked. I was able to get it home. After shutting it off for a few seconds, I tried to start it again. Dead. Nothing. What should I look at first? I currently am charging the battery but I am afraid the alternator may be dead. The battery warning light never came on though. I am hoping for a simple fix like getting a new battery or fuse somewhere but I don't think that'll do it. It drove great coming home from work today. Any other thoughts? Barry
