Subject: '90 - 9000S - Check engine light on

'90 9000S 2.3L 5spd 164km, original owner, has been very well maintained and driven sanely. Recently while driving at steady speed the check engine lamp will come on and after a short while go out. When turning the ignition on (not running) the 'check engine' will flash 5 times. Otherwise the vehicle exhibits no drivability problems. I'm thinking that the O2 sensor maybe on it's way out as the scheduled maint. recommends O2 replacement at 192Km as I recall. Could anyone tell me what the 5 flashes mean? So far, aside from regular service, the vehicle has only required a new rad fan temp switch and fuel pump assembly.
