There are a lot of Porsches at work, but I don't know the people who own 'em, so I can mooch a free ride somewhere. :) >> Mercury Mountaineer. Mercury's version of the Explorer. :) > OH-h-h! Especially when everything happens in a blink of an eye. From that point on... I was going to make sure that any car I got had traction control standard. >> I skidded perpendicular to the mountainside and >> gently slammed into the mountain (no damage). > I did a 180 and stopped inches from the bridge. Wow... A 180. So you were facing the opposite direction. I'm glad I was able to do a 360. Actually, a 450, since I ended up doing another 90 degree spin. >> I hear screeching and I see >> the headlights of a white suburban inches from my car. >> You are lucky, suburbans are not known for their braking ability. It was a very noticeable handling difference. Turns that I could make at 30-35 mph, I wasn't quite making. There wasn't the control I had in the Aero. The pick-up also wasn't there. It's peppy, but not a match for the Aero. Also the tires probably make a difference too. Going from Aero to an SE was a disappointment. :) > I saw an Aero like yours (minus the fin) yesterday in Rhode Island. Aaaaah.... A black one, huh?? I met a guy who had a silver Aero without the rear spoiler at a Chevron gas station. He took one look at my Aero and said, "I'm getting myself a spoiler... That looks nice!!" We had a laugh. >> Oh don't get me started on baseball. Damn Giants can't even win a game >> against the Rockies.... (grrr) > I like baseball, but I haven't followed it for a while. College radio stations around here have a range of about 100 >> feet. > I can also drive through our state in two hours. :) True. Can't do that in California. If traffic's bad, you won't be able to go through the Bay Area in 2 hours. :) >> HAHAHA!!!! If the hotel is a good one... Why not just stay in the >> hotel! :) > Oh sure, as long as my every whim is taken care of. ;) Well, I spent a few nite's in Chicago's Knickerbocker Hotel. It was VERY nice. :) >> Yeah. Too much to do in SF. > I had the best sourdough bread ever in SF. Yeah... I guess SF's spoiled with really good sourdough. ;) Actually, SF has some of the best food in the country, IMHO. (No wonder I'm gaining weight...hahahaha) > A month! > Aren't you going to miss your car?
