Your questions are not stupid. I recommend you not use Gumout. A check of the small print on Gumout Carb and Choke cleaner will tell you it is not recommended for fuel injected cars. I recommend Berryman's B-12 Chemtool Carb and Choke cleaner, Berkibile 2+2 or B&G Throttle Body and Intake cleaner. B&G is expensive, but is very good. You should also clean your throttle body and intake. With your engine off open the butterfly and spray cleaner into the throttle body. Use an old tooth brush to scrub inside and an old t-shirt to wipe out. You will have to remove the tubing or boot to do this. Put everything back together. Start your engine, and while you operate throttle spray cleaner through one of the smaller throttle body holes. You will have to remove one of the small vacuum lines. Putting a half a can through should do the trick. Last but not least, disconnect and remove your AMM. Spray cleaner down through it. If your's is like mine was, you will see the brown dirty fluid run out. Spray until clean, air dry and reinstall. You should be in good shape. Ken Washington 87 9000S 87 900S 83 900T
