Subject: Turn signal wiring

Hi, I have a 96' Saab 9000 CS. There's a problem with the turn signal light operation. Left turn lights work OK. To the right they work every now and then. That means when I turn to the right once, they work OK and in a next turn, they do not. By using the hazard light switch they always work. It seems that moisture and/or temperature has something to do with it. I've checked the turning light switch and it's OK. The relay is common for both directions, so that's not the problem since left always works. I've checked and measured all the bulbs and their connections, OK. The only thing I can think of is that there's a break somewhere in the wiring under the dash. I removed some of the panels from the dash in order to see if there was a loose connector, but no, the leads from the switch disappear somewhere into the wiring harness and there's no way to see where that white lead goes. And of course it's not the only white lead in the harness! I tried to find more information from the Haynes Saab 9000 repair manual, with no success. In that manual they show only those self evident things, not what you are really looking for. In addition to that the circuit diagram does not match to the real harness in the car, at least not in 96' model. Is there anywhere available good circuit diagrams for Saab 9000? Or do you know where the wiring goes from the turn signal switch, I mean in the car, not logically? If the break is in the wiring harness, the only reasonable fix is to bypass the break with a new wire. But, if the first end of the bypass wire is connected into the turn light switch, where do I connect the other end??? Thanks for any clues! Juha
