Subject: Re: Check Engine Light 93'900s

Frank, The check engine light is triggered by the engine control unit. If it flashes intermittently it is indicating that there is a fault with one of the parts of the engine control system. Usually, it is an oxygen sensor, dirty throttle body or AIC, fuel injector, etc. The system stores a code and this can be read out fairly simply which will aid in diagnosis. If the light flashes regularly while driving (example 4 flashes at a regular interval), it is signaling a problem with the ignition control system. This is usually a faulty harness or knock sensor. If you are interested in attempting a diagnosis yourself, post back and I can direct you to some sites which may help.
