Thanks Pete. My wife took the car into the dealership anyway this afternoon, it appears that the problem was caused by a shorting in the Headlamp Wipers. The SAAB engineers disconnected the wipers and everything's ok now! Thanks for chipping in anyway, Ian "Pete Turier" <pete.turiernopsamternet.com> wrote in message news:9le6i7$5nc$1nopsamium.btinternet.com... > Mmm, well it could be the switch, but it could also be the Timer unit that > gives the set number of wipes (6?) when you wash. > Pete. > "ian mayo" <nospam.IanMayonopsamail.com> wrote in message > news:tnka38ms20hc30nopsamupernews.co.uk... > > Hi, > > whilst driving my '94 9000 CDE last night, I cleaned by windscreen by > > pulling on the wiper stalk as usual, but when I released the pressure the > > washer stayed running. > > > > I pulled off the road, and tried fiddling with the stalk to see if it > would > > release - it wouldn't. > > > > I then carried on driving with the washers/wipers going until the water > tank > > emptied, then continued with just the wipers going. > > > > I presume that the switch inside the stalk is broken, but does anybody out > > there in Saab-land know if there is anything simpler/more complex > happening? > > > > thanks > > > > Ian > > (remove nospam from address to reply directly) > > > > > >
