Subject: Flushing Engine Oil Cooler -91 9000

I'm replacing a damage engine oil cooler with one from the local bone yard. When I was flushing it with oil, a lot of small copper tiny square bits came out. I believe these were the internal fins. What is the best way to clean it out. I have used kerosene. Does anyone think that high pressure from an air compressor would do more damage cleaning out this cooler? Thanks for any suggestions. Jay
